Thank you so much for your interest in The Marathon Clothing's 2024 Los Angeles Marathon Team, supporting The Neighborhood Nip Foundation and presented by The Marathon Clothing, The Marathon Water, and Puma! The Neighborhood Nip Foundation's marathon team offers various top-notch benefits to all of our Los Angeles Marathon runners in appreciation of their dedication and fundraising commitment to the foundation. You will be equipped with cutting edge gear and a running coach amongst other perks. Since this is our inaugural team, we are interested in building a culture of individuals looking to push their limits, inspire others, and give back to their community - just as Hussle always did. Given the competitiveness of the Los Angeles Marathon, the Neighborhood Nip Foundation has limited entries for the 2024 race. Therefore, we are looking for runners who can maximize impact for the foundation. For participants interested in the 2024 marathon, official recruitment has already begun. Our goal is to have most of our accepted runners admitted onto the team in October and November. The hope is that admission onto the team that early will allow ample time to fundraise. The funds being raised are being used to support the rebirth of The Nipsey Hussle Plaza which is home to The Neighborhood Nip Foundation’s headquarters. Breathing new life into the location and following Hussle's passion for creating a program that aids and encourages youth to reach their highest potential, the renovated site will serve as a massive community center for elementary through high school level students. Led by staff members of the foundation and additional volunteers from the community, programming will range from academic studies to music and studio-specific access. Additionally, the plaza will offer exclusive access to The Marathon Store, which will not be open to the public, as well as free haircuts at Steve's Barbershop named after Hussle's childhood friend Stephen “Fatts” Donaldson. Since the funds being raised are to continue Hussle's legacy of giving back to the LA community, we are looking to maximize our impact and find committed runners who are willing to guarantee the fundraising minimum set forth for our program - $5,000 for runners, with a hope that participants can surpass that fundraising milestone. If you wish to run but are unable to meet the fundraising commitment, please still apply and we will see if we accommodate your participation.
